Choosing a CPAP machine is not a straight-forward process, especially if you are a new CPAP user. We recommend the following steps to help you get the most benefit out of your therapy.
Following your sleep study, your Sleep Physician has determined the optimum pressure for your CPAP therapy. Typically they will have also recommended the type of device that is suitable for you.
There are two different types of CPAP unit available:
Fixed Pressure:Delivers air at a constant pressure throughout the night.
Automatic Pressure: Sometimes referred to as APAP, or auto-adjusting CPAP, these respond to subtle changes in your upper airway and provide an adequate pressure response on a breath-by-breath basis. The flexibility in pressure can make for a more natural breathing sensation when wearing CPAP.
Take advantage of AIR LIQUIDE Healthcare’s two-month trial period to find a CPAP unit that suits your needs.
