Masks  [ Return to  CPAP Therapy Equipment  ]

There are many different types of masks. Finding your most comfortable fit is a very important step in ensuring a positive treatment outcome.

Full Face Masks

Full face masks are usually recommended if you have a tendency to breathe through your mouth.

Nasal Masks

Nasal masks are the most popular type of CPAP mask. There are many different styles and sizes to suit a wide range of faces and needs.

Nasal Pillows

A very low-profile mask system, nasal pillows are ideal if you desire reading or watching television whilst you’re on CPAP.

Studies show that one of the main reasons for patients dropping CPAP therapy is in relation to discomfort with their mask systems. Discomfort may be caused by use of an inappropriate mask or, more frequently, from the poor fitting of the mask, leading to air leaks.
If your mask does not fit correctly, you may not be getting the full benefits of your treatment. Do not get discouraged or discontinue your therapy. Your CPAP consultant can assist you.
