Your humidifier chamber should be removed before moving your CPAP machine as it only takes a small amount of water to get into the CPAP machine to cause water damage to the motor. All manufacturers do not cover water damage in the warranty period on your CPAP machine. Even if you have emptied the chamber of water, you still should not move the CPAP machine while the chamber is attached.
Most CPAP machines will automatically change over from 100 – 240 watts if you are traveling to another country. You may find you will need to have an adapter that your CPAP machine can be plugged into; these can usually be obtained from Electronics Stores.
Most CPAP machines can be used with an external battery power source, using an inverter connected to a 12-volt deep cycle marine battery. It is not recommended to use your car battery, as this will flatten the car battery and it will need to be recharged. Some CPAP machines have a built in transformer, so these do not need an inverter. You will still need your 12-volt deep cycle marine battery, DC Battery Adaptor Cable 12 Volt or a shielded DC Power Cord. Which cable you will need will depend on whether you are connecting your CPAP machine to the 12vlt outlet in your car or an external battery.
